The AICS Group specialises in providing community-based rehabilitation and support to our clients who have a brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal injuries, learning disabilities and present with complex cognitive, physical, behavioural, emotional and social needs.

The AICS Group is looking for Female Rehabilitation Support Workers to work with our 8-year-old male client who lives in Sevenoaks. This role provides immense job satisfaction, working with a range of health and social care professionals in the client’s home.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client was born prematurely and had associated complications during delivery which resulted in a lack of oxygen to the brain and subsequently caused brain injury. The client is fully dependent on his parents and support workers to meet all his needs. We are looking for Female Support Workers who can work the hours below at least two days a week*:

School term split shift hours:

  • Monday – Thursday 07:00 – 11:00 and 15:00 – 19:00
  • Friday 07:00 – 11:00 and 12:45 – 19:00
  • Saturday – Sunday 07:00 – 19:00

School holiday hours: 

  • Monday – Sunday 07:00 – 19:00

*Support Worker will be allocated regular set days in the week and will be required to attend shifts during school term and school holidays as per above shift patterns. 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Skills:

  • Current, clean driving licence
  • Own vehicle to drive to and from work
  • Willingness and ability to drive the client’s adapted MPV (multi-purpose vehicle)
  • Minimum 1 year experience in health and social care
  • Minimum 6 months experience working with children with complex needs
  • Understanding of developmental delay and cognitive impairment 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to implement therapy guidelines
  • Willingness and ability to work in the client’s home
  • Ability to liaise with healthcare professionals 
  • Willingness to learn and ability to take on feedback
  • Good IT skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of providing care to people living in the community
